As well as enjoying haulage by DC, EF and Wab classes I saw DXBs, DFBs, F, J, Ja, Ka, Silver Fern, RMs, EWs and more. Düsseldorf Airport The first loco we scored for haulage in Germany. 146 026 enters Düsseldorf Flughafen with a train for Hamm (via Essen & Dortmund), which we rode as far as Dortmund. Somewhere around Essen I think! 294 860. A Sauerland Netz LINT 41 BR648.1 DMU arrives at Schwerte, heading for Dortmund. 111 127 departs Schwerte, bound for Venlo. Real vintage traction. 140 634 tears through Schwerte with a mixed freight. 185 165 passes through the yard at Schwerte, before taking charge of a trunk wagonload service. A flying brick. 155 120 hauls a block train of bogie tanks through Schwerte. Radio control fitted shunter 294 405 sorts stock in Schwerte yard. Railion 232 055 idles at Schwerte. Shortly after it would hook onto a block coal working. Another 155. 155 244 hauls a train of Audi cars through Schwerte. Superpower for a short train. 151 039 passes through Schwerte. HGK 185 582 hauls a trainload of Ford Mondeos through Schwerte. 111 114 in Schwerte again. I couldn 't make up m y mind which of these two images I preferred! The dominant traction on the Düsseldorf-Hamm via Wuppertal RE services are 111s, mostly on ex-Silberlings (refurbished late 1990s/early 2000s), though 112s and double deck stock also put in appearances. Here 111 114 enters Schwerte heading towards Hamm. This service originated in Venlo, Holland. Tilting ICT BR411 passes through Schwerte. Germany makes us lose the Game. BR628.4 DMU 628 531 at Wuppertal-Oberbarmen. Token wagon photo! 111 152 enters Wuppertal, before taking us to Hamm. Schwerte signal box. S-Bahn EMU with 425 061 leading at Hamm. Journey's end for this trip. 111 152 sits at Hamm, having been our traction from Wuppertal. DB Gleisbau 218 287 stabled at Hamm. Although once ubiquitous, this was the only 218 we saw. 425 561 trailing an S Bahn service leaving Hamm. Second generation ICE, ICE2. A pair of sets arrive in Hamm, before splitting and going their seperate ways. 112s share RE duties with 111s on the Hamm-Düsseldorf via Wuppertal line. 112 136 waits time at Hamm. BR711 catenary maintenance car. One of the trip's surprises. Two narrow gauge locos and an Industrial shunter at the west end of Schwerte yard. What a monstrous surprise! EfWs V200s and Ludmilla, 221 117, 221 122 and 232 088 stabled in Hagen yard. EfW's locos again, 232 088, 221 122 and 221 117. The 221s were bought secondhand from Greece, who had bought them secondhand off DB in the 1980s! Lease power. PRESS 145 023 is seen stabled at Hagen. This loco was bought secondhand from SBB Cargo. Classic ICE. ICE 1 with 401 504 on view at Hagen, Taken from the train. I can't remember which station this is, it's somewhere between Hagen and Wuppertal. BR111 111 013 with double deck stock. Lotrac Caterpillar engined DR V100 Düsseldorf Hauptbahnhof rear entrance.

At this site one can see the unusual sight of two power stations within yards of each other, as the old Lanesborough power station has not yet been demolished (correct at April 2006). We were granted the priviledge of entering the works at Mountdillon (a few miles west of Lanesboro'), and saw many locomotives we would not otherwise have seen.
